A Winter Holiday Vacation Can Be a Great Family Gift

Although for some, traveling may not be the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about a picture-perfect Christmas-New Year, many people find that this holiday time provides the perfect opportunity to escape to a travel destination of their dreams.  It can be a fun, new experience for those who may not have family close to home or who may be itching to travel, but cannot find the time during the rest of the year to do so.  Travel destinations are endless but deciding where to go is the tricky part.

NYC is always on the top of holiday traveling destination lists, capturing the essence of the holiday season.  With the city’s gigantic Christmas tree in the heart of Rockefeller Center, the holiday-inspired store windows, the Radio City Christmas Spectacular show, and the overall spirit captured by traveling tourists, NYC is the perfect destination for a holiday-geared vacation.

For the active family, flying to Colorado may be the perfect Christmas travel destination.  If your family has been dying to experience the beauty of the Colorado Rockies, while gliding down the slopes on your skis or snowboard, you will surely appreciate this luxurious getaway.  Whether it is Aspen, Vail, or any other mountain resort, your family will have a full itinerary filled with snowy activities, including dog sled rides, dining at premier cabin restaurants, and sitting around cozy fireplaces.

Yet, if you prefer a warmer destination, why not travel to Florida where your family can visit Disney World, one of the “happiest places on Earth.” The beaches in Miami, West Palm, Naples and Key West can be excellent options for a sunny Florida getaway.

If your family would like to travel a bit further and experience new Christmas traditions, Puerto Rico may be just the spot.  Puerto Rico has its own set of Christmas time traditions, including food, stories, and celebrations, which makes it a unique experience.

For those who would like to celebrate a religious tradition, this would be the time to tour Israel and experience the holiday like never before. Take a stroll from Zion Gate to Jaffa Gate or take a traditional cooking lesson at Shuk HaNamal, a farmer’s market that faces the  Mediterranean Sea. Visit the Western Wall, Galilee or Bethlehem with an experienced tour guide to make it all the more meaningful.

We encourage all of our clients to start booking their travels today, especially if you are planning a trip from December 21-January 4, 2013.  As can be expected, traveling at this time is a bit pricier.  However, there are “EBDs” (Early Booking Discounts) available now making it important to start booking your getaway a.s.a.p.
